Owl be downloading you again this year!

Have you got your calendar for 2013 yet? If not you will have to swoop down on this one. I've downloaded these for the last two years and am very happy to be able to do it again this year.
My Owl Barn has compiled, once again, a gorgeous collection of owl illustrations for you to download as a calendar. You get to pick your favourite for each month - so hard to choose!! Here are just a few examples below.

Thank you, thank you, I will treasure it all year long... you can never have too many owls, seriously.
So either click on my link button to the side or go here to get yours!

Owl Calendar 2012

speaking of owls - My Owl Barn has put together another exceptional calendar for 2012 illustrated beautifully by artists from all over the world! This was an extremely popular project last year and I am so glad it's back. You can choose which illustrations you like and so customise your own calendar and then download it for free! Once again - difficult to choose!

Welcome to the Jungle

Went to the Jungle Giants EP Launch in May. It was held {aptly} at the Zoo in The Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. It was a fantastic night! Of course you know I love them, they did not disappoint.
I purchased a special pack containing their EP, a rad poster, some stickers and my choice of a little jungle animal - I chose a tiger {grr I am year of the tiger}.
I brought him home and my menagerie welcomed him.

I Have A Dream...

I have this dream where little elves come and clean my house whilst I sleep and organize my boxes of fabric into something like this

Oh wow!

No it was me + an ironing board + 2 hours in front of Bridget Fonda in the Assassin.
*Interesting fact - Harvey Keitel pops up for his second time as "a cleaner" Mr Wolf {one of my fave small part characters in a movie} in Pulp Fiction,  after appearing as Victor the Cleaner in the Assassin.
I hadn't seen the Assassin since it first came out and  got a surprise to see Harvey walking in to this movie in the same role and wondered which one came first?

In order of appearance; little owl pincushion by Tiddliwink Toys found at The Collective Store,
♥ one of my favourite fabrics from Amy Butler♥ collection of buttons inherited from my Mum,
♥ more buttons in tins and a little friend that's almost as old as I am, ♥ "A" initial from Reverse Garbage and can you see my little red suitcase at the top? It is from my kindy days and was referred to as a port! It still has my name dymo labeled on to it. Did anyone else have one of those in the 70's? My Story Bridge hanky is now living in a frame.
Much easier to get on with the sewing projects now, however still have a couple of boxes of fabric to sort which will live in the drawers below - anytime you want to jump in evles...
Hope you have all had a good weekend and are making the most of this gorgeous weather!

Sweets for the Sweet!

Morning tea at Leesa's and visiting her baby girl twins, this was a couple of weeks ago, I visited to give the girls a belated Christmas present. Leesa always bakes/makes something delicious and made this treat for us. I like to think very fresh and healthy and decadent and bad at the same time. Oh well.

fresh berries, cream, vanilla bean paste, elderflower cordial and then some from

The twins' room
I missed having a girl of my own so take delight in my friend's girls and
all of the sugar and spice that goes along with them.

Blythes, I have been introduced but I have forgotten their names!

Sew Cute dolls found at The Collective Store

On my latest visit to Wynnum I discovered The Collective Store. {loving the website illustrations!}
It houses a fabulous collection of handmade crafty goodies, all of a very high quality and beautifully displayed. I was pretty happy because I wanted to get something special for the twins and actually had a hard time narrowing it down to these cutesy dolls. Good to have a place to go for handmade at any time, without having to wait for a market to pop up or buying online.

Handmade Owls

I visited my friend Leesa last week and as usual she always has some sort of treat to show me or feed me when I get to her house besides her two little scrumptious baby girl twins.
And as I can't go past an owl without looking twice I was pretty impressed by this little guy.
A very talented friend of hers has made this beautiful owl. She has embroidered, painted, stitched and I don't even know what else but he was so gorgeous I had to share. He is going to be a gift for another friend who has just had a baby boy this week amidst all the flooding.

Aren't the details amazing! I love the buttons too!

Toni has done several of these that I have seen { Leesa has twin owls for her girls} and as she does something different every time I will be looking forward to see what she does next.

Two owls flew in

My very own little owl candles ~ a present from a friend for 'just because'.
Her mother made them. Unfortunately I will not be burning these, they are too sweet.
